Spring Concert in Aid of Refugees
A Spring Concert with the City of Belfast Youth Orchestra and School of Music Conductors Robert Briscoe and John Gillen took place in Holy Cross Church on Friday 29th April at 7:30 pm in aid of the refugees/Concern for Turkey and Jordan.
Master of Ceremonies was Richard Yarr BBC.
Soprano Megan Mooney was joined by Elise Brammer – Mezzo – Soprano, Robert McAllister – Bass and James McCreanor – Tenor. Le Voce Ensemble performed with CBYO String Quartet. Performances included CBSM Symphonic Brass, joined by A-Freeken-A made up of pupils from schools across the city, CBYO Percussion Ensemble and String Quartet.
There were performances from the award winning school choirs of Holy Cross Girls and Holy Cross Boys North Belfast excelled. Cathryn Lynch, 2015 winner NI Young Musician of the Year, performed Prelude from Suite No. 1 in G major.
It was a wonderful night’s entertainment.
