Bannside Community Group was founded in 1995 by members of the local community with the objective of seeking ways to address the multi-social and economic deprivation of the Obin’s / Corcrain interface in Portadown and bridging the religious divide by the promotion of mutual understanding and respect. A voluntary and community development organisation was seen as the catalyst to drive these issues forward to gain a favourable resolution.

Bannside Development Centre provides the facilities which Bannside Community Group use to deliver community based, tailored projects designed to improve education in the interest of social welfare, the protection of health and recreation for everyone in the local and surrounding communities, regardless of age, gender, race, political or religious opinion.
