Flax Trust Rose Bowl 2012

The 28th Flax Trust Rosebowl charity golf competition took place this year at Massereene Golf Club in Antrim on Friday, 24th August 2012. The main sponsors for the event were Flax Trust and CIS Insurance with further sponsorship from Neill McCann, Saveways and Goldblatt McGuigan.
There were 18 teams competing for the overall team prize as well as an individual club and society prize. The team event was won by Joe’s Driving School. Runners-up were Holy Cross Boys’ School. The overall Club prize went to Mark Reilly and the Society prize was won by Martin Carson.
The ‘back nine’ was won by Martin Gearin; ‘front nine’, Colin Mitchell; nearest ‘The Pins’ Stephen Murphy and Paddy Dobbin; nearest ‘The Pin’ in two, Lennie McCullagh and ‘Longest Drive’, Sean Doran.
Fr Myles Kavanagh, Chairman Flax Trust, presented a cheque for £5,000 in aid of the Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice.
It was a very successful event with the weather much better than forecast.
