The Social Economy – SSEI Masterclass Series

One series of masterclasses for policy makers, social entrepreneurs, investors, public sector managers and business leaders was recently completed.  The masterclasses, run by SSEI a joint venture of Flax Trust and the University of Ulster, were held at various venues in Belfast and Derry with the final event addressed by the Minister of Finance, Sammy Wilson, MLA, taking place at Invest NI in Bedford Street. The purpose of the masterclass series is to facilitate, inform and stimulate policy debate, exposing practitioners to best practice and illustrating how they can secure opportunities within the social economy.  Each event was facilitated by a relevant Chair and delegates had the opportunity to put questions to a panel of experts.  Sponsors included the Department of Enterprise, Trade & Investment; Invest NI, Enterprise NI, UCIT Ltd, Social Economy Network and the Charity Bank and the Flax Trust.
